Gil Garitano works hard to capture memories on canvas. As a portrait Artist he has painted the weathered faces of longshoremen on the San Francisco waterfront, American Indians at Powwows and Sports figures. His Commitment to Excellence has lead him to begin a series of Sport Legends ..... As an active artist himself, he is by nature concerned with detail, quality, beauty, longevity as well as the aesthetic value of artistic works. Throughout his long career he has been influenced and has admired such great artists as Rembrandt, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Eakins, Adolphe-William Bouguereau, John William Waterhouse, Johannes Vemeer van Delft, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, the many artist of the Hudson River School of landscape painting, Maxfield Parrish, Norman Rockwell and too many more to mention here. "Everything has meaning. We're going to miss it one day, hopefully I can record it by painting it."
He finally has his Fine Art Homepage on line! Here you will see his artwork, inventions and versatility. In the GALLERY are samples of available signed limited editions.
